On September 1, General Herkimer Elementary kicked off the new school year on a sweet note, hosting a special Popsicles with the Principal event for students in kindergarten through third grade and their families.
The casual outdoor gathering offered young scholars a fun opportunity to enjoy cool treats, play with friends and welcome their new principal, Mr. Daino, to the General Herkimer community.
Students spent the afternoon catching up on the playground, sharing their summer stories and chatting with Mr. Daino in a relaxed, informal setting. Connecting before the official start of school helped ease back-to-school jitters for students while giving parents and guardians a chance to meet the school's new leadership face-to-face. Building strong relationships across the community and starting the year together with smiles sets a wonderful tone for everything ahead.
